A New Nation Of Apostolics Is Born
by Jason A. Aguilar
From the very beginning, God gave us a system in which a new nation of Apostolics would be born. Through the illustration of God’s creation of nature, we are given a spiritual system to learn a powerful formula for Apostolic evangelism. What was God doing in creation? God was creating an environment for life on earth. He placed man and woman in the middle of this environment revealing to them a system that proceeds down a process, which starts with a seed and ends with a new seed. Genesis 1:12 speaks of a seed within itself. God has created in the seed the ability to reproduce itself. This is reason for great joy. God has given you and I a plan to evangelize our nation.
As the bible says in Genesis, “God created the heavens and the earth.” The first day, He separated light from darkness, which represents discernment between truth and evil. The second day, He created the sky, which gave us an eternal perspective. The third day, He created the land, seas, plants, and trees, which teach us how to depend on Him. The fourth day, He created the sun, moon, and stars, giving us an understanding of the temporal things, which cause us to hope in God. The fifth day, He created the marine animals and the birds of the air, letting us know that we can overcome the most rugged waves and the most violent winds. The sixth day, He created the beasts of the earth and His greatest creation of all, man and woman. God positioned the human race in the garden and made it their rightful place. The seventh day, God blessed, sanctified and rested from all that He had done. No, God did not take a nap but He did make known a principle of how to obtain a blessing. The word “sanctified” means to consecrate (setting apart) and the word “rested” means to cease (bringing a peace of mind).
For God to bless our Apostolic revival there is a process to follow. If we learn the process, it will lead us to a consecrated life and rest assurance (peace of mind) that we are in the will of God. God is not interested as much in the destination but more so in the process and what we have learned along the way.
Almost four years ago, we arrived in New York to start a church in Long Island. As in the first day of creation, Jesus separated truth from evil. Many Spanish-speaking people began to hear about the Apostolic Assembly churches gearing up for growth in New York. We made our stand as one-Lord, one-faith, and one-baptism believers. In these short years, the Apostolic Assembly has grown from only two churches to five churches here in New York. As in the second day, Jesus gave us an eternal perspective of what He has purposed for the Northeast. Pastors such as Domingo Carlos and Eduardo Merino began to see people filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues on a weekly basis. Pastor David Magallenes and Pastor Luis Subervi from Queens, began seeing divine healing from the gravest of sicknesses and miracles of wonder. Comparing the third day of creation, our churches started to see numerical growth after planting the seed of faith. Amongst the Long Island and the Mt. Kisco churches, more than one hundred were baptized in Jesus Name in less than three years. Including Manhattan and Queens, the total numbers approximately one hundred and fifty. The forth day of our process, brought many trials through the loss of loved ones such as Tito Lopez Jr. and Matthew Ramirez. But God strengthened us and gave us joy in the assurance that this earth is not the end of all things. As in the fifth day, our Lord helped us overcome many trials and tribulations. For every violent wind of opposition that blew, a wave of baptism decisions drenched the shores of our altars. Just three weeks ago, I had the privilege of baptizing a 51-year-old Jewish man named Fred. He was born and raised observing the holidays and traditions of Conservative Judaism. He began a long journey to the revelation that Jesus is Lord and the Acts 2:38 baptism. After trying Buddhism, other forms of spiritualism, non-denominational churches, and even being elevated to the role as a satanist high priest, he walked into an Apostolic church for the first time and was impacted by the environment of Apostolic revival. That night, he decided to be baptized in Jesus name! When he rose out of the water by divine appointment, he was raised speaking in other tongues for the first time in his life. Our Assembly is more than a cultural thing, it is a God thing. As in the sixth day, our pastors and our members of the Apostolic Assembly now have a sense of entitlement. A sense of, “this is where we belong.” The birds belong in the air and the fish belong in the sea but a new nation of Apostolic believers has been born and we belong in the environment of the miraculous. The seventh day, the day of perfection, God sanctified and blessed his church. On April 27, 2007 at one o’clock in the afternoon, the first Apostolic Assembly building in New York was purchased. It is a miracle! Jesus is showing us that this is where we belong. This miracle has given us an assurance and a peace of mind that we are in the will of God. It is only the beginning of what God will do in the Northeast.
It takes courage to be blessed. Do you have the courage to be blessed? This new nation of Apostolics is learning what it is to have a generational blessing. This is a blessing like that of Abraham. This new nation of Apostolics is not driven by color, culture, or custom but they are elected and appointed because of their relationship with God. It is a Spirit covenant, a blood covenant! Jews today are still spending and enjoying Abraham’s blessing today. It is a generational blessing, one that will last until Jesus returns. Even long after we are dead and gone, if Jesus Christ should tarry, the blessings of the Apostolic revival in New York should fall on the generations to come as long as they position themselves under the system that God has ordained.
